Infocraftdiary culled from Headliners
The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has told President Muhammadu Buhari, not to re-appoint Chris Ngige as Minister of Labour and Productivity.
The Secretary of NLC, Mr. Peter Ozo, made this known in an interview with the Punch Newspapers.
As reported by Headliners, Mr. Ozo said “President Buhari will be inviting trouble if he dares re-appoints Ngige as Labour Ministe.”
According to the report, Ozo said “the President should look for another Ministry to fix Ngige in so as to avoid any crisis with the labour unions.”
This warning is against the backdrop “that Ngige, during his tenure as Minister of Labour in President Buhari’s first term in office, clashed with NLC leaders, over the delayed inauguration of the National Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) board,” the report explained.
In the interview, Ozo said “the President should look for another Ministry to fix Ngige, in so as to avoid any crisis with the labour unions.”
Chris Ngige is one of the 43 Ministerial nominees, sent by President Buhari to the ninth Senate for confirmation, currently undergoing screening.
